If you do well in all your classes. I suggest you turn in your work and do a little studying. If you must, sit down and manage your time, dedicate a time slot in your day to work on school work and study. So yes it is possible.
Study, study, study and you will see your GPA can even be better than 2.4. The key is to study more and more.
Generally you need a 2.5 to get into university. Otherwise you have to go the community college and transfer route.
Where have you been all these years?
Community college is a clean slate. It is remarkably easy to raise GPAs in HS. Nonetheless, a 2.4 is usually not a winner for college.
I hope you plan on locking yourself in your study if you are a senior. My GPA dropped in my senior year, I had buckled down in junior year-then lived it up via my chronic senioritis the next year.
Slammed the door on Vassar and Boston College for me. Study hard, play harder.
It is necessary to know when you need to have a 2.4 GPA. Since you want to get into a university, I am guessing that you are currently in a two year college. If you just started your first semester, you have three more semesters (by May/Jun 2012) to raise your GPA. You will need a GPA of 2.5, 2.6, and 2.6 for the three remaining semesters. If you have only one semester (May/Jun 2011), you need a 2.9 in order to bring it up to 2.4. You can do it, but you will have to unlearn your current study habits.
