# Physics homework help needed...?

The motion of a very massive object is hardly affected by what would seem to be a substantial force. Consider a supertanker, with a mass of 2.8×10^8 kg. If it is pushed by a rocket motor (thrust force of a rocket motor is 5x10^6 N) and is subject to no other forces, what will be the magnitude of its acceleration? (all info given is provided)...thanks in advance

This problem is extremely easy. First, look at what you need to find: acceleration. What else are you given? Mass and force? Can you think of any equation that will help you with this problem? Try Newton's second law of motion:

F = ma

Rearrange the equation to solve for a:

a = F/m
