Was HITLER hero or villain?

The world believed that hitler is villain of the 20th century. But, in 21st century there are two groups in the world. One says he is hero and other says he is villain. Give your opinion. What you think?

I think your "only 2 groups" theory leaves out a lot of groups that are somewhere in between, and I should let you know that there are websites you can go and ask this question that will generally yield different results than Yahoo Answers, and probably more information than the community of Yahoo Answers can give regarding your specific question.

I don't see Hitler as a "hero", but here are some things Hitler said that I agree with:

"For the Jew was still characterized for me by nothing but his religion, and therefore, on grounds of human tolerance, I was against the idea that he should be attacked simply for having a different faith. Memories of events from the Middle Ages entered my mind and I felt I should not like to see them repeated. Consequently, the tone, particularly that of the Viennese anti-Semitic press, seemed to me unworthy of the cultural tradition of a great nation."

- Mein Kampf

"The heaviest blow that ever struck humanity was the coming of Christianity. Bolshevism is Christianty's illegitimate child. Both are inventions of the Jew. The deliberate lie in the matter of religion was introduced into the world by Christianity. Bolshevism practices a lie of the same nature, when it claims to bring liberty to men, whereas in reality it seeks only to enslave them." - Hitler's Table Talk

"The most frightful example of this kind is offered by Russia, where he killed or starved about thirty million people with positively fanatical savagery, in part amid inhuman tortures, in order to give a gang of Jewish journalists and stock exchange bandits domination over a great people." -Mein Kampf

Regarding Russia, Hitler might be referring to the Holodomor - that genocide of the Ukrainians nobody in America has ever heard about, possibly because:

"Communism however cannot deny that in Russia today 98% of all official positions are held by Jews who not only can never be classed as members of the proletariat, but who have never earned an honest penny in their lives." - Fuhrer's Closing Speech at the Nuremberg Congress of Honor

However, he could also be referring to the Soviet gulags (death camps under Stalin) or the massacres in the Katyn forrest which the Soviets blamed on the Nazis. Only in the 1990s did the Soviets admit it was actually them:…

Movies about the Katyn massacre have been blocked from distribution in the US. So, while I don't think Hitler was a hero, I DO think there are usually two sides to every story, and deliberately remaining ignorant to one side does not prove you a "hero", but only proves you are not trying to obtain an actual understanding of what occurred.

Your "hero or villain" category leaves no room for Oliver Stone, who claimed that the suffering of Russians of that same era is minimized and "Hitler makes an easy scapegoat". Oliver Stone IS Jewish, but the news coverage lambasting him for this remark never mentioned that.

Your "hero or villain" category leaves no room for Walt Disney, who wouldn't hire Jews because he believed they were all communists. Somebody mentioned that communists were also placed in German camps at that time. Yep. Today we call them Jews. Have you ever wondered why the media makes it so easy to forget all of the non-Jews placed in the German camps, and nobody asks non-Jews for their eyewitness accounts? I, for one, would like to know how Christians and gays and other political prisoners were treated in the German camps, from their own mouths. Where do I read their accounts? People who OPPOSED communism were put in the Soviet camps. And Japanese people were put in the American camps. From what I can tell, the American camps (far from being a picnic) were still by far the best place to end up.

i agree with kaps :)

hero to the germans, villain to the jews and humanity

He was a brilliant, inspired man, tactically and militarily, and politically. But he was completely lacking correct morals.

Well unless you think murdering 6 million Jews, Gypsies, Slavs, Disabled people e.t.c. is admirable, you can safely say he was a villain,

He lost a war.

He had over 6 million civilians put to death.

He lost 5.5 million of his OWN soldiers.

He committed suicide.

Sounds like an utter FAILURE of a villain to me.

Hero No 1

Under Treaty of Versailles, Germany was cut in pieces. A piece of Germany - Alsace-Lorraine was given to France, piece of Germany - Eupen and Malmedy was given to Belgium, piece of Germany - Northern Schleswig was given to Denmark, piece of Germany - Hultschin was given to Czechoslovakia, pieces of Germany - West Prussia, Posen and Upper Silesia was given to Poland, pieces of Germany - Saar, Danzig and Memel were brought under league of Nations and people of these regions were to vote in future, whether they want to remain in Germany or not. League of Nations also took control of land won by Germany under treaty of Brest-Litovsk. Some of this land was given to Poland and some made into new

states of Estonia, Lithuania and Latavia.

Hitler merely wanted to unite old Germany when England and France attacked Germany. Hitler wanted to regain German corridor (under polish possession) lost under the 1919 Treaty of Versailles, that cut off East Prussia from the rest of Germany. Had England and France not attacked Germany there would have been no WW2. It was because of England the aggressor that so many died. Hitler's another goal was to stamp out communism. He did not want war with Britain and France. He was very surprised when they both declared war on him due to German corridor.

Before Hitler, England France had attacked and enslaved more than 100 countries in Africa, Asia, America including Canada, and Australia, NZ etc. E & F were like a big bully of your school snatching away candy of small children the 3rd world countries. America got independence because of in fighting between E & F.

Then along came Hitler who single handedly made German a superpower in a matter of few years. Hitler attacked the big bullies and wanted to do E & F what they had done to 100 others smaller and weaker nations. From a zero in 1920, Hitler took Germany to such heights that it took the might of all powers America, Britain, China, Russia, France etc to defeat Germany But thanks to Hitler, the 100 nations/small children which were enslaved by the Big Bullies like E & F got their freedom from Britain and France.

Jews had no living space. Hitler also stated this fact in his biography that Jews have no place of their own so he (Hitler) proceeded to give them Israel. NO Hitler No Israel.

Has any other person does so much for freedom of the 100s of the billions of the humans of world ?

we don't know what Jesus has done for millions of humans of his times, but we all know that Hitler gave freedom to billions of his times.

- He took a nation that was demoralized and united it.

- He gave the nation a mission or focus.

- His engineers built and invented Freeways.

- The German economy boomed.

- He gave the German people back their confidence in themselves.

- He gave V2 technology which the world used to send rockets to space.

-He banned production and use of atomic weapons.

- He allowed the British to escape at Dunkirk

- He did everything possible to avoid war with Britain & France

- He didn't use chemical weapons against the allies during D-Day invasion

- He banned production of atomic weapons- He banned hunting

- He banned smoking on public transport

- He performed an economic miracle on Germany

- He banned cruel ritual slaughter on animals

I believe he was a Villain that had the potential to become a hero but misused it terribly because of his hateful personality.

He was brilliant in his own little way but because he had the tendency to blame everybody but himself for things that went wrong he turned into quite frankly a monster.

However today some people think he was a hero for standing up to the government and actually doing what he said he was going to do.

Which today is a hard thing to come across since everybody complains endlessly but never actually wants to do anything to help themselves.

STILL this is no reason to slaughter an infinite amount of people without a real reason.

Here for he will forever be one of the most infamous and horrid "Villains" that ever existed.
