Question

Umm... I need help with these can you set them up as proportions and show work and give answers!

1. 16 is what percent of 64

2. What percent of 145 is 52.2?

_ Page 1

percent is put over 100. then it's "is" over "of.

16 is what percent of 64

proportion:

16/64 = P/100

cross multiply:

64P = 1600

divide both sides by 64:

P = 25

16 is 25% of 64.

what percent of 145 is 52.2

proportion:

P/100 = 52.2/145

cross multiply:

145P = 5220

divide both sides by 145:

P = 5220/145 = 36

36% of 145 is 52.2

that's it! ;)

you cant do this on your own?

#3

64x=16

x=.25

25 percent

52.2/145=.36

36 percent

#4

1. 40%

2. 2.7 with a repeating decimal

#5

1. 16/64*100%=25%

2. 52.2/145*100%=36%

So, best of luck dude.

#6

1. 16/64 = x/100 < multiply 16x100 and divide it by 64 (cross multiplying and dividing) and you get 25, so 25%.

2. x/100 = 52.2/145 multiply 52.2x100 and divide it by 145. You get 36 %

#7

1. Divide 16 into 64, then divide the quotient of that problem into 100. The quotient of the second problem is the percentage. 25%.

2. 52.2 divided by 145. It's .36, AKA 36%.

This is sixth grade math standard, how could you not know this? And this is coming from an actual sixth grader. SMH.
