# Help with these three problems please :)?

Question 23 (Multiple Choice Worth 3 points)

[3.06] MA.7.A.3.3

Zach ran t times around the track at school, which is one-fourth mile. He ran a total of seven-twelfths mile. Solve for t.

seven forty-eighths

two and one-third

three-sevenths

one-third

Question 24 (Multiple Choice Worth 3 points)

[3.08] MA.7.A.3.3

Solve negative five-ninths equals negative two v plus one-third for v.

four-ninths

negative one-eighteenth

one-ninth

five-sixths

Question 25 (Multiple Choice Worth 3 points)

[3.01] MA.6.A.5.3

Kean has four hundred cell phone minutes he can use each month. He has used one hundred fifty minutes so far this month. Which of the following shows, in simplified form, the portion of his minutes that he has used?

one hundred fifty over four hundred

five-eighths

three-eighths

two and two-thirds

[3.06] MA.7.A.3.3

t * (1/4) = 7/12

t = (7/12) / (1/4)

t = (7/12) * (4/1)

t = 7/3

He ran round the track (7/3) times, or three-seventh times.

[3.08] MA.7.A.3.3

(-5/9) = -2v + (1/3)

(-5/9) - (1/3) = -2v

-5/9 - 3/9 = -2v

-8/9 = -2v

(-8/9) / -2 = v

(8/9) * (1/2) = v

4/9 = v

v is four ninths

[3.01] MA.6.A.5.3

He has used 150/400 of his minutes this far

or 75/200 << dividing by 2

or 3/8 << dividing by 25

three eighths

1/4t=7/12

3/12t=7/12 (common denominator)

divide both sides by 3/12 =>

t=2 1/3

-5/9=-2v+1/3 >> common denom. -5/9=-2v+3/9

divie both sides by 2 ==> v = 4/9

150/400 = 3/8

(1/4)t=(7/12) distance x number of times= total distance

solve for t and you get 2 and 1/3

(-5/9)= -2v+(1/3)

(-8/9)=-2v (subtract both sides by 1/3)

v=(4/9) (divide both sides by -2)

he used 150 out of 400 minutes so (150/400)

simplify that to 3/8

LOL at below 7/3 does not equal three-sevenths
