I honestly can't tell you... and in reply to the above comments I'd like to say that historians believe that the Vikings were the first to discover America, making them the first "Non-Americans" to venture to America.
what school you go to? I was never taught christopher columbus was first person discover america.
but in comparison to Christopher Columbus, then in a sense, yes
He was the first non-american to discover america. If I had to discover an ancient temple then I could say i discovered it (doesn't mean their wasn't anyone their in the first place)
