Can all Single Bonds Rotate?
Or is it just all Carbon-Carbon single bonds?
All single bonds can rotate, however there are not many atoms that will make additional bonds to form a chain, so the rotation that occurs for those is not often mentioned. For instance, if you have a CH3Cl molecule, the chlorine rotating about that bond will not do very much. Because of this, usually discussion of bond rotation happens for things that will form bonds that can continue the chain of the molecule (like carbon, oxygen, and nitrogen).
all single bonds rotate...the only reason why double bonds can't rotate is because they are flat..
