It depends on the breed. My maine coon won't be completely full grown for five years.
I'd say from kitten to full grown, not going to get any bigger but maybe fatter, adult cat would be two - two and a half years. They'll start calming down after a year though.
In general when a kitten is a year old its considered a cat. However they can take up to 2-4 yrs after that to be fully grown and developed. Large breeds like a Maine Coon will take 4 yrs to be fully grown.
For show purposes - 8 months is considered to be an adult.
Be sure your kitten is spayed/neutered by 3-4 months old because they can breed as young as 4 months old.
Tips - do not adopt a kitten less then 10-12 weeks old - they are still nursing up to 8 weeks and are not totally litter trained nor eating solid foods. They also need social time to be mentally and physically ready to leave. Kittens under 12 weeks old can have behavior and social problems if taken too soon.
About a year before its about an adult.
Since baby kittens cannot be removed from the litter until at minimum 1 month, look for a 1 month old kitten in the papers.
It takes about 12-18 months depending on the breed, birth weight and lots of other factors. If you get a kitten make sure that it is at least 8 weeks old (best 12 weeks old) before it leaves it's mum. Don't be tempted by a 6 week old kitten as they can so often develop health problems when taken away from mum that young.
6 months officially, but they keep their kitten-ness for a year.
it takes about one year...that's what i looked up from my a website.....well, i hope it helps! p.s my cat is pregnant so i would say a year!
also..the only way your cat can get pregnant is if you have a boy cat and a girl cat and if you have a box somewhere that is private.
and if she gets pregnant, message me, i know what to do when a cat is pregnant..and the signs that say she is having birth.
I would say about 1 year or so.It took my cat a long time to grow but like the first answer said don't get a kitten just because you think they are cute. They can always get sick and die on your little girl unless your responsible enough to the cat and take it for it's medications and shots. But anyways Good Luck!
'Bout a year it stays kitten-cute. But adults are just as good! Don't get a kitten just for the cute factor, they can get sick too. They are a pretty big responsibility.
