His words set me free

- by Michelle 61

I've held it in
Not sure why
But I've not been able to cry

He left so quick
I didn't have much time
Suddenly, he wasn't mine

I wasn't ready
To let him go
So if I cried, it would be so

I still had things to do
His wash, His games, His toys
The messy room of a boy

But suddenly
As I sat to wait
For him to come home through the garden gate

It struck me that he was gone
That he had died
And I began to cry

And I saw the angles
They were flying by
With my child in the sky

Give him back
I shouted out
But they just flew about

I fell to the ground
I challenged the Lord
Then I begged and read His Word

How can I live
When my life has just gone
How can I go on?

And then I hated
I blamed them all
For my child shouldn't have heard the call

While I lay there
In such pain
I heard a voice who called my name

"I do not know sadness
And I do not know hate
Most of all, I do not question my fate

Stand up Mother
And very tall
I wasn't taken I heard the call!"

So I got up
I turned around
And there was no one to be found

And so it was time to cry
Cause I heard his voice
And it was also time to rejoice

"I wasn't taken I heard the call"
He said to me
And it set me free

A place called home

- by Heather R. Tindall 60

Feeling tense, it's so hard to breathe, as every night I cry so desperately,
To put the hurt in the past, as I walk out my room, my heart beats so fast.
You shouldn't feel so scared to talk, so scared to joke, or so scared to walk.
You don't have it bad. Grow up You're immature! is what you say, then why do I hurt so bad each day.
Everything is a mistake to you! I say, I got an A! and you say but did you get two?
My failure sticks out so much in your mind, that I dwell upon it and can't put it behind.
For some reason when I succeed, all excited to tell you, you nod and say Good. then put it behind you.
This tension between us, I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE! I CAN'T STAND THE AGGRESSION OF DOING SO POOR!
I WANT TO GET OUT! GET OUT OF THIS PLACE! SO I DON'T HAVE TO SEE THE DISAPPOINTED LOOK ON YOUR FACE!
I'M STUCK IN THIS HOLE! IN THIS HOLE ALL ALONE! I'M STUCK IN THIS HOLE IN A PLACE CALLED HOME!... There's no place like home, I think that was said?
Then I covered my face and then sat on the bed...
Then all was quiet...
He put down his mug and instead of a shrug, he walked to the bed to give me a hug.
I felt a tear drop and that was something new, then he held me real tight and whispered, I love you.
