Question

USB device not recognized?

Okay, so I have a Toshiba laptop, and I had a IBM mouse attached to it. It was working fine for the past few months, then suddenly yesterday the mouse just wouldn't move, so i unplugged it, then put it back in and it says "USB Device not recognized" at first I thought it was the mouse, so I got another mouse, which says HP on it and it still says not recognized. i also tried restarting my laptop and shutting it down - nothing. what's wrong?

Answers

1.have you try to use another usb slot?

2.have try use another usb device (like usb flasdisk)?

if your mosue work on another usb slot, then it means you have 1 usb slot broken

if another device work on the problematic slot, then it is your mouse that's broken

if none work on all usb slot you have then you have 2 possible problem:

a.windows driver for usb somehow get messed up (although its unlikely)

b.your motherboard usb controller is broken, call service center for repair

Some USB devices require Drivers. You need to go to the website of the device and download the correct drivers Save and then RUN.

#2

The USB Device is not recognized.

The Computer doesn't know how to communicate with the mouse firmware.

The computer may have corrupt drivers.

Change USB slot.
