I had 2 ferrets growing up. I usually changed the pan every 3-4 days, it depended on how much crap they would produce or what the consistency was. If it wasn't very consistent I changed it sooner because it usually smelt a lot worse. You don't need to use litter, but it will cut back on the smell and help conceal it. I used the mulchy stuff for hamster cages.
YOU CAN CAHANGE WHEN FERET MADE WATER/OR/DIRT TO KEEPS CLEAN OK.
UM, how about every single day. You can use just about any type of litter from scoopable, to johnny cat type, to yesterdays news type. shredded newspaper will just make it smell more.
you can use shredded newspaper if you're going to change it every day. If you use litter you may be able to slide to every other day. When it comes to changing litter boxes i have only one question for you, do you flush the toilet every time you use it or do you like the effervescent odor when you "let the yellow mellow"? Why on earth would you expect any different from your pet?
