What can i use to record sound?

from four or less different sound sources to use with my computer

Answers

That is a good computer question asked here in TVs yet I'll give it a shoot as I work the audio part of the company when filming.....

Well first I don't know your set up, also what platform your on as well as what type of ports you have as your question very open ended....

if you have a tower which is good then get a breakout box with XLR cables to record the sound to your computer using them with your microphones.

Now listed here are some great cards they will get the audio from your mics or mixer or even a patch panel setup or even a splitter. Some of the cards are costly yet there are some really good ones that are not that expensive.

Now if you have a laptop the same thing can be done with your USB port, PCMCIA Card or a ExpressCard/34 going this route you could use less expensive microphones like the USB type or even the 1/8 jack ones as well.

Once you have that down use your audio program to download the audio into the computer if you don't have that use Audacity as it's a great application for free.

Hope that helps you out just let me know if you have anymore questions....
