If Mark Twain is America's best liberal writer, who do you think was America's best conservative novelist?

I'd say it was William Faulkner.

Tom Clancy

Glenn Beck...

...The fox news retard.

Some of Heinlein's stuff was quite Libertarian.

Raymond Chandler.

If Twain was a liberal, why did he use the "N" word so often in his writings? Why do liberals now want to republish his books with the "N" words changed to something more PC?

I don't consider Faulkner a conservative writer. Some of his remarks on race relations were very insightful. He captured the essence of the fear that drove part of the Southern psyche on the issue of race. He also donated part of his Nobel Prize money to help African American students.
