Question

Are you looking forward to the new Footloose movie?

I loved the movie Footloose; Kevin Bacon rang my chimes, I guess. Are you looking forward to seeing the remake?

Answers

The first thing I thought when I saw your question was "Why are they remaking a fairly recent movie?" then I looked it up. 26 years ago. Dang, I'm old.

Edit: People who don't like remakes, did you know that Humphrey Bogart's 'Maltese Falcon' was a remake? It had been made twice before, once as 'Maltese Falcon' and once as 'Satan Met A Lady' with Warren William and Bette Davis. Remakes don't automatically suck, it only happens that way 99.9999% of the time.

All I want is another "Men in Black" movie!

No, they always screw things up on remakes. They should leave the classics alone.

The last 10 movies we rented all stunk. Don't they make good movies anymore?

I've always been disappointed by remakes. Psycho comes to mind; the new version just didn't carry the same impact as the original. As far as I'm concerned, Kevin Bacon is Footloose; I just can't imagine anyone doing a better job than he did. I'll only see the new one if it goes to cable TV.

Yes, A Star is Born was also a remake. I actually preferred the newer version, but only because I was a Streisand fan.

I have never seen the first one but I do like Kevin Bacon.

This is one time I disagree with you.I have never been a fan of remakes because of being a film purist.
